Although I hope this is not my "last" memory of Rule High, I was thinking of the last time that Sandy (Alleman, Class of '63) and I went back. I don't even remember the year, but I think the school was in the process of closing down. We got in and walked through the hallways. The class pictures were still on the wall, and we went into the "home economics" area. I remember the aroma as we poked our heads in the door. One of the staff was cooking a big pot of pinto beans. If we'd been able to find some corn bread and butter milk, we would have been tempted to sit down to a real feast.
