I would bet that several of you remember marching in the band from one end of Gay Street to the other...

It states:
Written by Virginia Shular 1955
Edgar Allen Poe Jr., band director, wrote the melody

Thanks, Bob. I thought Mr. Poe wrote both the lyrics and the melody.
