Paul (Burr) Creswell Levy, age 83 of Knoxville, passed away July 22, 2017.
Mr. Levy was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Rule High School, class of 1952, and was a firefighter for 33 years, retiring as a captain with the Knoxville fire department. He was also a 32nd degree Mason, a lifetime member of the Elk's Lodge 160 and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Paul was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Linda and his greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Shirl and Maude Levy; brothers, Tom, Charles (Mack) and Arthur (Red) Levy; sisters, Nancy Mayes, Vera (Tillie) and infant sister Carolyn.
Survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Linda Levy; son, Jeffrey (Kaye) Levy; daughter, Paula (David) Taylor; stepdaughters, LaDonna Reed, Brandi Glenn; grandchildren, Ben (Ansley) Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Dylan and Connor Levy; step-grandchildren, Eddie, Nicole and Miah; brothers, James, Carroll and Lynn Levy; sisters, Mary Jane Bernard, Elizabeth (Libby) Mack; longtime friend and mother of his children, Madge Mechling.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Weaver's chapel from 5:00-7:00 pm with service to follow. Rev. Sam Ensor officiating. Family and friends will meet Thursday, 11:30 am at Weaver Funeral Home and proceed to New Gray Cemetery for a 12:00 pm interment.
