Earl Thomas Moyers - age 78 of Knoxville passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017. Member of Salem Baptist Church. US Army veteran who served in Germany with the 4th Army Division. Earl was also Vice-President and Board Member of the Post Office Credit Union, a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, Blue Lodge Mason, Kentucky Colonel, past President of Branch 165 NAPS, Associate at the Post Office for more than 35 years. He was a graduate of Rule High School, attended Knoxville Business College, and graduated from the Postal Academy in Washington, DC. Preceded in death by infant daughter; parents, Charles and Ruby Moyers; and sister, Glenda Romanello. Survived by wife JoAnn Moyers; daughters, Cathy (Marvin) Breeden, Kelly (Ronnie) Cobb; grandchildren, Austin Breeden, Seth Breeden, Steven Cobb, and Sydnee Cobb,; brothers, Argus (Joyce) Moyers, Charles (Mabel) Moyers; brother-in-law, Tony Romanello. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM with Rev. John Holland officiating. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 8201 Hill Road, Knoxville, TN 37938.
