Knoxville - On Friday, May 14, 2021, Imogene Loope passed away peacefully at the age of 91. She was truly an angel on earth and served the Lord and others above her own needs always. Born in Knoxville April 12, 1930 to Roscoe and Zelma Grant, she played piano and sang at an early age. She was in the Knoxville Girls Quartet while in high school at Rule. Imogene married James C Loope on January 16, 1954. Her and Jay loved to travel with friends. After they retired, they traveled the country in their RV and were snowbirds in Bonita Springs, Florida. She worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory for 26 years.

Imogene has been an active member of Mt Olive Baptist Church for over 50 years and sang in the choir as well. She volunteered for every need they had - visiting shut-ins, church events, children's ministry, and was loved by all. Her latest passion was singing with The Transformers, a ladies ensemble that would sing at Fantasy of the Trees, Market Square and numerous churches and nursing homes. She loved traveling with tour groups to Israel and many trips on the East Coast with her friends. Imogene was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau Women. Preceded in death by parents Roscoe C Grant and Zelma Wolfenbarger, husband James C Loope, sister Edith Parker and brother Roscoe Grant Jr. Survivors include daughter Cheryl Loope Spinazzola and husband Mike Spinazzola, son Gregory P Loope and wife Nancy Loope, grandchildren Jake Clary, Michael Spinazzola III (Trey), Lori Diffie and Jennifer Krajnik, great grandchildren, Michael Daniel, Sophie Krajnik and Kevin Diffie. Family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Monday, May 17, 2021 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy. Knoxville, TN 37920. Funeral Service will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Reverend Kirby Ownby will be officiating. Following the service, family and friends will be proceeding to Sherwood Memorial Gardens for Imogene's Interment Service.
