Leonard Bryant Jarnigan
JARNIGAN, BRYANT L. - age 69, of Knoxville, passed away January 30, 2011 at U.T. Hospital. Graduate of Rule High School. After high school he played semi-pro football for seven years with the Knoxville Bears. Retired Captain with the Knoxville City Police Dept with 31 years service. Preceded in death by father, Robert Jarnigan Sr.; brother Robert Jarnigan and nephew Lloyd Jarnigan. Survivors: wife, Denise Standridge Jarnigan; sons, Jeff & Kenneth Jarnigan; step son, Travis Rule; step daughter, Buffy Rule all of Knoxville; granddaughters, Janice Teal of Tullahoma, TN, Jessie & Jennifer Jarnigan of Huntsville, AL; grandson, C.J. Jarnigan of Knoxville; special little friend, Nathan Cox of Knoxville; mother, Reba Jarnigan Lawson; sister & brother-in-law, Ronald & Alma Bayless of Powell; brothers, Kenneth & Wallace Jarnigan and sister-in-law, Nancy Jarnigan all of Knoxville; several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends 12:30-2:00 PM with funeral service to follow at 2 PM Tuesday at Mynatt's Fountain City Chapel. Chaplain Gerald King officiating. Interment Highland Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeff, Kenneth, C.J., Kenneth R. and Wallace Jarnigan and Travis Rule. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation .
