DILLS, KYLE VERNON - age, 83 of Knoxville, and Athens residence from 1960-1983, who was always mindful of the needs of others, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday June 6, 2012 after a 4 year illness. He was a active member of Central Baptist Church, Bearden and former member of First Baptist Church, Athens where he served as a Deacon. Kyle graduated from Rule High School in 1947. He spent his entire working career in the hardware business, having started with C.M. McClung, then Orgill Brothers, Beck and Gregg and retiring as Sales Manager for House-Hasson Hardware. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Kyle, who was the son of the late Neal Dills and Ollie Mays Dills Weaver, was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ethel Lee Dills, whom he married on May 17, 1954; brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Dorothy Dills; sister and brother-in-law, Myrna Ruth and Marshall Helton. He is survived by: son, Daniel Kyle Dills of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and Charles Grimm Jr. of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; three precious grandchildren, Katie, Michael, Matthew; several nieces; one nephew. A funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Mark Moreland officiating. The family and friends will meet Monday at Edgewood Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. interment service. Online condolences may be made at www.rosemortuary.com.
