Ronald W. Sexton, age 83, went to meet his heavenly father on August 21, 2021. He was born October 8, 1937. He was the oldest of nine children. He was of the Baptist faith, and a lifelong Christian that lived his life by the word of God. He retired as Captain after 38 years from Knoxville City Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Jo Brewer Sexton; infant daughter, Lucy Charlene; parents, Edward & Juanita (Walker) Sexton; sister, Betty (Sexton) McCann; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Miller) Sexton; in-laws, Woodrow & Edna (Seals) Brewer, Harold Brewer, and Judy Brewer. Ronald is survived by his children, Mona (Sexton) and Terry Clowers, Bryan & Sheralynn Sexton, and Carmeletta (Sexton) Thomas; six grandchildren, Sam & Stefani Clowers, Wayne Sexton, Terri Lee (Clowers) Moran, Emily (Thomas) Shelton, Christin (Clowers) & Todd Daniels, and Joe & Ashley Thomas; sixteen great grandchildren, Samuall, Mariah, Holland, Courtney, Catherine, Elizabeth (Libby), Ricky, Drew, Addy-Grace, Luke, Reanna, Jordyn, Nicholas, Peyton, Travis, and Elliott; two great-great grandchildren, Waylon and Aida; brothers & sisters, Linda (Sexton) & Sebastian Caromile, Jackie (Sexton) & John Holloman, Sandra (Sexton) & Gary Lee, Eddie & Peggy Sexton, John & Barbara Sexton, Rick & Diane Sexton, Michael & Shirley Sexton; in-laws, Lewis & Bonnie Brewer, Mickey & Teresa Brewer, and Ann Brewer; several nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Donald Craig. Ronald’s great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5pm – 7pm Tuesday, August 24, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive. Knoxville Fire Department Chaplain Paul Trumpore will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 10am on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for the 11am Graveside Service.
