Jimmie (Jim) David McGinley, age 74, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on October 3, 2021, after sudden, brief illness. Jim was born in Knoxville and a proud graduate of Rule High School. He was a long time member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Jim was a football, wrestling, and strength training coach at Seymour High School. In addition, he was a Driver's Ed teacher, bus driver, farmer, and woodworker. He will be missed by the many who learned Godly character and dedication to family from him. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathryn Godfrey McGinley; mother Dorothy Fellers McGinley and son Mark McGinley. He is survived by his children Beth Ann (Jay) Bourne and David (Jamie) McGinley; grandchildren Ethan, Ellie, Megan, David, Isabelle and Ian; father William D. McGinley; siblings Sue Ellis, Charlie McGinley, Callie McGinley and William McGinley; daughter-in-law Sharon McGinley and a large loving family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church's Sanctuary Renovation. The family would like to welcome friends to open calling hours on Thursday, at Berry Highland South, from 12pm-5pm. Friends and family will meet at Berry Highland South on Friday at 2:45pm for an interment service at 3pm.
