Loui Harris - Class of 1948

Louie Harris, age 91 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Blount Transitional Care. Louie was a man full of faith and deep love for his family and friends. His heart and actions always reflected the love of Christ. His heart was filled with God’s joy and he never failed to share what he had with others. He faithfully served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Louie and his wife, Dixie, loved to travel especially, on their mission trips to Brazil. There, they helped build chapels and shared the love of Jesus. They loved beach trips and camping with friends. Louie always enjoyed a good game of golf with his buddies. Preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Harris Boring; parents, Alonzo and Bertha Harris; brother, John E. Harris; granddaughter, Sarah M. Moore. He was survived by wife of 68 years, Dixie L. Harris; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Chris Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and David White; son-in-law, Ernie Boring; grandsons, Barry Moore (Andrea), Britt Harris (Abby), Chandler White (Lindsey), Isaac Boring (Anne); granddaughters, Cara McAmis (Jordan), Caitlin Dando (Gabe), Amber Wills (Justin), Erin McFaddin (Brandon); 11 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will assemble at 3:00 PM for Graveside Service and Interment Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Madison Avenue Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life to follow with Dr. Greg Heisler and Rev.
