Shirley Ann Mingie (Hale) went home to meet Jesus on February 24, 2022. She was a 1959 graduate of Rule High School. A devoted member of Inskip Baptist Church for forty years, Shirley's passion was reading the Bible through every year, her daily morning devotions, and following the example of Christ by selflessly giving of herself and resources to her family and others when in need. Shirley was assistant manager at Woodgate and Windsor Court apartments for ten years and manager of Normandy Chateau Apartments for twenty years. After retiring, she worked part time at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School in the cafeteria. She is preceded in passing by her loving husband of forty-two years Fred T. Mingie; parents Macey and Lucy Taylor Hale; brother, Bill L. Hale; sister, Betty Jane Walker. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories Rex Bradley (Nancy) Mingie, Nikkie Howard (Venus) Mingie; grandchildren, Nicholas (Rebecca) Mingie, Shelby Mingie, Bradley Mingie, Zachary Mingie; great-grandchild, Elliot Simpson; special nephew Dale (Melissa) Mashburn and his son Breck Mashburn. The family would like to thank Aspire Health, Avalon Hospice, and Quality Home Health for the loving care they all provided to Shirley during her time of need. The family will honor Shirley with a Receiving of Friends at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens in The Good Shepard Mausoleum Chapel on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 12:00am to 2:00pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Mike Segers to officiate the service, a Committal Service will follow immediately after the service at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in The Garden of Devotion.
