Mike Hyde - Class of 1964

Michael Kenneth Hyde of Knoxville, Tennessee, age 77 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth Hyde, and his sister, Bennie Walk.
In his early life, Michael graduated from Rule High School class of 1964, then went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps (stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina) from 1965-1967, and followed with service in the National Guard until 1969. In 1965, Michael married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Ann Smartt, and they remained married until his passing. Michael had a lifelong career with the Knoxville Police Department, having joined the force in 1969 and retiring after 34-years of service which included his work as a detective in the Major Crimes and Auto Theft units.
Michael is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and their two children, Mike Hyde (Beth) and Mandi Watson (Aaron), four grandchildren (Emily Long, Anna Grace Hyde, Bailey Watson, and Barrett Watson), one great granddaughter (Vada Long), two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2022 with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet by 12:30 PM Friday, March 25, 2022 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 PM interment service. Pallbearers will be Mike Hyde, Aaron Watson, Barrett Watson, David Brewer, Jared Long, and Hunter Cooper.
