Linda Harper - Class of 1958

Linda H. Compton age 82, of Knoxville, has gone on to rest in God’s arms after a courageous 11 year battle with cancer. She devoted her entire life to her loving family, and holds a lifetime achievement award for most ball games attended, with a very close second place of most ball park hotdogs eaten. Her unwavering love will truly be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Trixie Harper, brother, Rudy Harper (Jayne), sister, Becky H. Merritt. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert “Bob” Compton of 62 years, son, Darrel Compton (Lori), daughter, Lorie Rheinecker (David), grandchildren: Bailee and Rylie Compton, Dane and Cole Rheinecker and Megan Collins; Also voted most loyal family member, her constant canine companion, Tanner. The family would like to thank our lifelong friend and personal physician, Udit Chaudhuri and staff, Dr. Dobbs, and Tennessee Cancer Staff our new friends at Hospice, and Tami Nelson, the latest blessing to join our family. Special thanks to the very best family and friends from Georgia, Kentucky, and Florida to Indiana, we love you all so very much. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at ROSE FUNERAL & CREMATION BROADWAY, immediately followed by a 6:00 pm Celebration of Life service officiated by Preacher David Cardwell.
