Gloria Jean Earles Cox entered into eternal rest May 12, 2022. Born July 14, 1951, in Knoxville to Laura Jean Barber Earles and Lee Echward Earles.She was a lifelong member of Payne Ave Missionary Baptist Church, baptized under the pastorate of Rev. H. J. Bailey.Survivors, son, George "Bump" Cox Jr.; grandchildren, Maliyah, JaQuon and Ge' Cari; brothers, James (Julia) Earles; Cecil (Toni) Earles; sisters, Angela (Terrell) Patrick, Carla (John) Jefferson; sisters in law, Victoria Earles , Lillian (Robert) Wynn; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; special friends, Saundra Smith, Wanda Battle and Dennis Thompson.Gloria integrated and graduated from Rule Jr. and Senior High School in 1969; employed at Standard Knitting Mills and House Hasson Hardware. In her younger years, she played on organized basketball and softball teams.The family wishes to express special thanks to Ft Sanders Hospital Neurology Unit and Holston Rehabilitation and Health Care Nurses, Doctors and Staff.

Family will receive friends, Thursday May 19, 2022 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m., at Payne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church; Celebration of Life, 12:30 p.m., Reverend Richard S. Brown Jr., Officiating.

Interment, Knoxville National Cemetery.
