Verlin Myers - Class of 1958

Verlin Bruce Myers, 82, of Powell passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday, June 22, 2022. He was born on April 27, 1940 to the late Bruce and Lillie Myers. He graduated from Rule High School and Knoxville Business College. He served in the Air Force and after retiring from the USPS he was a self-employed Process Server.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Joan Myers; daughter, Theresa (Terry) Rimmer; son, Verlin Craig Myers; daughter-in-law, Christine White Myers; sister, Delores (George) Smith; grandchildren, Drew (Jessica) Abner, Devin Abner, Luke Abner, Megan (Justin) Moore, Hite Myers, and many great-grandchildren which brought him so much joy. Special recognition to his caring neighbors that were by his side for years, he considered them family.
A visitation for Verlin will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM and the graveside service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with full military honors. Much gratitude to Rev. Roy Gose, long time, dear friend of Verlin for officiating the service. .In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Verlin to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
