James Styles, Jr Obituary
James E. (Fats) Styles Jr. was called home by his Heavenly Father on January 10, 2024. James is preceded in death by his precious mother, Rosetta Styles; grandmother, Edna Patterson; brothers, Walter (Slim) Patterson, Victor, and Gary Styles; step-son, Diondus Billings; nephew, TaKonda (T.C) Styles; and devoted friend, Mickey King.
James was born May 27, 1960, to the proud parents of James and Rosetta P. Styles Sr. He graduated from Rule High School in 1979 and later joined the United States Army, where he served in the 5th PLTC. James was an amazing, outgoing, loving, funny, and respectful person. James loved fashion, clothes, shoes, jewelry, and hats. James loved joking with everyone and never met a stranger. James loved children and enjoyed giving them candy, money, and advice. James was also a member of the Overcoming Believers Church.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: loving and devoted wife Crystal Bell Styles, whom he loved dearly; Father, James (Ethel) Styles Sr.; mother-in-law Charlotte Brabson; children Courtland (Erin) Styles Sr., Javonda Styles, Shawn Cox Sr. of Massachusetts, James T. Styles, James Styles III, and step-son Darryl (Amie) Bell; fur baby Shy Bell Styles; grandchildren Courtland Jr. (Victoria), Kela, Courtney, Keyon (Cayla), Isaiah, Chelsea, Chase, Jaylen, Adiedra, Miracle, Raina, Harper, Hayden, Shawn Jr, Shakur, Serenity, Tre'Shaun, Shawnae, Regunique, Ja'Miya, Taylor, Jalaysia, Jaylin, Ja Sean, Jatorrion, Jatoria, James, Ayronee, Jayla, Darrion, Promise, Josiaha, and Jacob; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters Aretha (Michael) Gilbreath, Jamesetta Lawrence, and Tammy Styles; sisters-in-law Tonya (Tyrone) Patterson, Dione Rodgers; brothers Jeffrey (Jackie) Styles, Andre (Yvonne) Styles, and Anthony (Carmilla) Styles; aunts Dora Bowden and Johnnie Bridges; uncle Mitchel Patterson; best friends Jeffrey Minor, Derrick Harris, John Wright, James Dailey, Ron and Joyce Harris of Nashville; many loving devoted nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to name.
