We bid farewell to Janice Louise Roop (Knoxville, Tennessee), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 17, 2025 at the age of 72. Janice Louise touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, J. B. Koontz and Irene Koontz; and her siblings, Roy E. Koontz "Bud" and Patricia Ann Hickey. She is survived by: her husband Earl; her children, Whitney Mauldin (Mark), Jamie Roop (Jennifer), Garrett, Olivia Mauldin and Hadyn Szulewski; and her siblings, J. D. Bright, Janet Greene and Sarah Allison (Lowell).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fountain City Chapel (2829 Rennoc Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 1:45 PM and at 2:00 PM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations by made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
