She was predeceased by: her parents, J. B. Koontz and Irene Koontz; and her siblings, Roy E. Koontz "Bud" and Patricia Ann Hickey. She is survived by: her husband Earl; her children, Whitney Mauldin (Mark), Jamie Roop (Jennifer), Garrett, Olivia Mauldin and Hadyn Szulewski; and her siblings, J. D. Bright, Janet Greene and Sarah Allison (Lowell).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fountain City Chapel (2829 Rennoc Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 1:45 PM and at 2:00 PM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations by made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
