BURKETT, JACQUELINE HARRIETT - 58, of LaGrange, GA, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Burkett was born December 14, 1949 in Knoxville, TN, daughter of Jack D. Lanning and the late Elizabeth Ball Lanning. She had lived in LaGrange for the past 17 years and attended New Community Church. Mrs. Burkett was employed with Rowes Jewelers as a manager. She was preceded in death by a son, John Monroe Burkett and sister, Cheryl Lanning. Survivors include her husband, William Burkett; son, Frank Burkett both of LaGrange; father, Jack D. Lanning; brother, Calvin D. (Debbie) Lanning; two nephews, Calvin Denton Lanning and Jonathan David Lanning all of Knoxville; special friends, Jenny and Brian McShane of Long Island, N.Y., Steven Fowler, Daniel Warren, Stephanie Fretwell all of LaGrange, and Jim and Patsy Rutherford of Kingston, TN. and Tansi Thress. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 8 pm. Rev. Mike Goodson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Tuesday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11 am graveside service.
