BROOKS, TERRI LYNNE, DVM - age 46, of Howard, Ohio died, Monday, February 2, 2009 at Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland, Ohio from a car accident. Born, April 7, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. Terri graduated in 1980 from Rule High School, Knoxville, TN, where she was Class President; graduate of Tuskegee University with a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine and was Board Certified. While attending Tuskegee University, Terri was president of the Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority; member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Mount Vernon, OH and was employed as Circuit Supervisor for the Southeast District of Ohio, USDA-FSIS. Preceded in death by adopted parents, the late Monroe and Mattie (Pitts) Butler; and brother, Davaughn Tippitt; grandparents, Offie & Lillie Mae Pitts; grandfather, Robert Eugene (Gene) Tippitt, Sr.; step-grandmother, Dorothy Fulton Tippitt; aunt, Denise Tippitt; and uncle, Charles Whitman. Survivors: husband, Gary Brooks of Howard, OH; children, Jordan and Meridia Brooks, Howard, OH; sisters, Latasha (Markie) Bingham and Regina Davis, Knoxville, TN and Peggy Givens of Chattanooga, TN; biological mother, Mattie Jean Tippitt, Knoxville, TN; grandmother, Mattie Tippitt Lyons, Knoxville, TN, granny, Josephine Tucker; brothers, Daryl (Felicia) Clemes, Knoxville, TN, Reggie (Shirley) Givens, Lenoir City, TN and George (Spanky) Clemes, Milwaukee, WI. Best Friend, Linda Mynatt, Knoxville, TN; father and mother-in-law, Willie (Georgia) Brooks, Jr., Phenix City, AL; brothers-in-law, Wayman (Helen) Brooks, Delaware, OH, Calvin (Carolyn) Brooks of Columbia, GA and Steve (Yashica) Brooks, LaGrange, GA; sister-in-law, Sandra (Eric) Jenkins, Columbia, GA; aunts, Fannie Means and Ruby Butler, Chicago, IL, Melissa McCollum of Chicago, IL, Evergreen Dotson of Peoria, IL, Julia Tippitt, D.D., Gloria Tippitt-Tucker, Brenda Whitman, Melody (Kenneth) Foster, and Dena (Greg) McCallie, Knoxville, TN; uncles: Robert Eugene Tippitt, Jr. Sam Ben Fulton (Carolyn), Shannon (Ellen) Fulton, Cepeda (Veronica) Tippitt, Homer Tucker, Knoxville, TN, George (Vivra) Clemes, Sr., Chicago, IL; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives including the Tippitt, Miller, Brabson, Brice, Turman, Tate, Dubose, Mitchell, Hamilton, Davis, Pitts, Butler families and many devoted friends, too numerous to mention. Family will receive friends, 12 Noon -1:00 PM Monday at Smith Chapel Church of God in Christ, 1110 Ohio Ave. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Willie Allen, officiating. Interment Highland South Funeral Home & Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society in Terri's memory or Educational Trust Fund for her children, Meridia and Jordan Brooks at Knoxville Employee TVA Credit Union.
