James Del Mont (J.D.) Price
PRICE, JAMES DEL MONT (J.D.), - age 87, native of Knoxville, son of the late Charles O. and Beulah Farmer Price, passed away February 9, 2009 at Baptist West Hospital. J.D. was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church, Knoxville. He was a graduate of Rule High School and Carson Newman College. J.D. taught and coached football at Rule High. He served as Music Director at Lonsdale Baptist, Lincoln Park Baptist and Sevier Heights Baptist Churches. He was the owner of J.D. Price Realty. He served in World War II, U.S. Army Air Corps. J.D. was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Price and Connie Price Collins; brother, Samuel H. Price; great grandson, Dennon G. Millhouse. J.D. is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Turbyville Price; daughter, Toni P. Dubiel and husband, Ray; son, Mike D. Price and wife, Vickie; grandchildren, Lieutenant Commander Michael Smithers, Michael Price, Missy Millhouse, Lauren Price, Wendy Thomas, and Lindsey Doyle; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Edna P. Maddox and Lola P. Sharp; brothers, Charles O. Price and wife, Jane, Jerry Price and wife, Carol; sister-in-law, Janie Price; several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Robert M. Overholt, Dr. Eric Schrock, and Dr. David Rankin, special nurses, Kelly and Donna; and all the Nursing Staff at Baptist West. A Celebration of Life service will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Knoxville with Dr. William Shiell and Rev. David Ward officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be Burnett-Kessell Sunday School Class and the Deacons of First Baptist Church, Knoxville. Pallbearers will be, Lieutenant. Commander Michael Smithers, Michael Price, Ryan Doyle, Jerry Holloway, Chuck Price, Dr. Monty Sharp, Dick Morgan, Charlie Morgan, Butch Rader and Ben Wolfe. The family request that memorial donations be made in the memory of J.D. to: First Baptist Church, Knoxville, Building Fund Knoxville, 510 W. Main Street, Knoxville, TN 37902.
