DUNAWAY, WADE E. - age 63, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and a Rule High School graduate, class of '65, a U.S. Army veteran, a 32nd degree Mason of the Master's Lodge #244, and a Shriner. He was a former City of Knoxville Police Officer. During his tenure on the police force he received several merit awards, was officer of the month three times, and also officer of the year. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne, Sr. and Edna Dunaway; and sisters, Brenda and Glenda Dunaway. Survivors: twin sister, Wanda Skeen, sister, Ruby Dunaway both of Knoxville, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne, Jr. and Martha Dunaway of Sevierville, and sister, Deanna Greene of Knoxville; nephews, Donnie, Jr. and Byron Greene of Knoxville; nieces, Sheila Alford of Citrus Heights, California, Wendy Dunaway of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Stacey Moomey of Ypsilanti, Michigan; several cousins; and Aunt, Freddie Crowder of Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway. The family and friends will meet 1:15 p.m. Friday at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 1:30 p.m. with Chaplain Craig Alleman officiating.
