MAHAN, RUBY CHRISTINE SMITH - age 78, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011, at home. She was retired from K-Mart (Kingston Pike) and worked at Atlantic Mills. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Rule High School. Preceded in death by parents, George and Estella Smith; brothers, Pvt. George Smith, Jr. and Hollis Eugene Smith; sister, Geneva Bell. Survived by, husband, Alfred Mahan; daughter, Sherry Daniels; sons and daughter-in-laws, Rusty and Carol Mahan, Jeff and Lisa Mahan, Emmanuel and Sharon Mahan; grandchildren, Jason Daniels and wife Teresa, Misty Daniels, Angel Daniels and fiancé David Byers, Amanda Mahan, Christina Maples and husband Sam, Callie Mahan, Kayla Mahan, Daren Coleman, Kelly Mahan, Daegan Mahan; eleven great-grandchildren; sister Pauline Maples. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 pm Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Johnny Price officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 am Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for 11:00 am interment services. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:30 pm.
