HANEY, REVEREND R. T. - age 74, of Blaine, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013. Rev. Haney was a man of many talents. Dachshund tamer, tour bus driver, grandfather, father, husband, and friend just to name a few. He attempted to lead every soul he met to Christ, and succeeded with a great deal of them. His congregation at Free Worship Church of Rutledge can attest to that. He met his Savior on July 18, 2013, and we can be assured he has never been more at peace. Preceded in death by parents, W. F. and Edith Haney; brother, Donnie; sisters, Gloria Cole and Joan Conard; and son, Wendell Macklin Haney, who will welcome him at the gates of heaven. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Haney; four sons, Derrill (Pat), Craig (Debi), Bryon (Dr. Jennifer Adair), and Ben (Anna); brother, Desmond Haney (Rita); grandchildren, Sara, Jared, Scott, Shawn, Adam, David Jonathan, Jessica, Miya, Allison, Dinah, Luke, and John Reece; and two great grandchildren, Dravon and Zachary. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Oliver Wolfenbarger and Rev. Leonard Norman officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Loveland Baptist Church, 1316 Spring Hill Road, Knoxville, TN 37914, or Gateway Gospel Hour, c/o William Boyd Bingham III, PO Box 2, Middlesboro, KY 40965. Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home and proceed to Lynch Bethel Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
