Bill Hawkins - Class of 1947
Posted: Sat Oct 11, 2014 1:12 pmHAWKINS, WILLIAM CLYDE - age 86, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Tennova Residential Hospice. William was born to the late Clyde and Lillian Hawkins on August 8, 1928. He was a graduate of Rule High School in 1946 and retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratories in 1990. He was preceded in death by wife, Geraldine Davis Hawkins, and son David Hawkins. He is survived by daughters Gerry Lynn Saylor of Knoxville and Amy Machtay of Charlotte, North Carolina; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, Whispering Waters. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to:
