CUMMINGS, V. FOSTEEN CHAMBERS - age 81, of Knoxville, passed away 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church, and preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cummings; parents, Clarence and Agnes Chambers; brother, Bill Chambers; and son-in-law, Mike Shanks. Survivors: daughter, Debbie King of Rogersville, TN; son, Gary Cummings and wife Janet of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren, Jason King and wife Lindsay of Knoxville, Matthew Cummings of Knoxville, Cayla Hobbs and husband Brandon of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Jacie, Jaxton, and Jaylie King of Knoxville, Sutten Hobbs also of Knoxville; sister, Lorene Harrell of Knoxville; four step-granddaughters; eight step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Reverend David Cardwell officiating.
