Gary Cardwell - Class of 1960

Gary David Cardwell, age 74, went home to be with the Lord, April 11, 2015. Gary was a 1960 graduate of Rule High. Gary was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lois Cardwell; parents, Carl Sr. and Esther Cardwell; sisters, Pauline Chesney, Geraldine Hammack, and Jo Ann Bacon. He is survived by his children, David (Detra), Karen (Scott) Buchanan, and Jeri Sigh; brother, Carl (Joyce) Cardwell, Jr.; sister Carol (Charles) Moody; grandchildren, Katie Bohannon, Christopher Cardwell, Cynthia Jones, Nicholas Cardwell, Beth Tharpe, Teri Glover, Justin Stooksbury and ten great-grandchildren, plus numerous fishing buddies and friends.

Funeral service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with Pastor David Cardwell and Pastor Jonathan Tharpe officiating. Friends and family will meet at 10:15 am on Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 10:30 am interment. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
