Postby Bob » Tue Aug 23, 2016 8:23 pm

Barbara M. (Spoon) Caldwell, 77, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on August 21, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She graduated from Rule High School in 1957, and was married to George R. Caldwell, Sr. She will always be remembered for her wonderful personality and her great sense of humor. She touched so many hearts and was always willing to help those who were in need. Barbara was everyone's anchor and gave her all selflessly; in fact, Barbara never met a stranger. Over the years, Barbara traveled extensively with George and enjoyed many trips with the Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters groups. Barbara was a successful Real Estate Broker and Insurance Company Owner.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Horace and Tina Spoon; brother, Burwin Dean Spoon. Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, George R. Caldwell, Sr.; her four children, Melanie, George Jr. (Angela), Shirlee Leslie and Bridgette Caldwell; grandchildren, Richard and Kendra Caldwell, Christopher Leslie (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Wyatt Leslie, Madison and Ayden. She also leaves behind her best friends in life, Jan and Dale Conder and Bob and Jenny Spurgeon. We want to thank all of the Hospice staff who took care of Barbara. A special thanks to Dr. Meek and the Staff of Proton Therapy.

A private celebration in honor of Barbara will be held for family only.
