Norma Maxey Day

Knoxville, TN

We lost our loving mother and Meme, 10/23/1927 – 12/31/2016, after a short illness at Tennova North Hospital. Norma graduated from Rule High School, Class of 1945. She was a majorette, cheerleader and Miss Rule High of 1945. Norma was married to Bob Day, the love of her life. She raised 4 children while working at AT&T, excelling as a nationally ranked sales rep for Tupperware and then fulfilling her dream to become a beautician and business owner. Norma owned her own salons, first in her home and later the Glamouristic Studios on Broadway. She was President of the Knoxville Hairdressers Assoc. for several years. After retirement from her successful business career, she spent her time enjoying her family and special friends.

She is survived by children and spouses, Robert E. (Gene) Day, Jr. and Katie, Carson Day and Ida, Michael Day and Ethel, Rebecca (Becky) Perkins and Dean; grandchildren and spouses, Scott Day, Shane Day, Jennifer Day, Rebecca Day Koontz, Robert Day and Sun Hee, Carson Day and Marcia, Nathan Day and Dr. Heather Reed-Day, Misty Cooksey and Len, John Legere and Jennifer; step-grandchildren and spouses, Allison Carter, Lauren O'Reilly and Kenny, Dena George and Thomas Perkins.
