Postby Bob » Sat Jun 17, 2017 8:28 pm

LaVancy Clevenger Large, known affectionately to her friends and family as "Vancy," passed away at the age of 85 at Kindred Fair Park nursing home on June 16, 2017. She was surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert M. Large, her three sons James R. Large of Maryville, Jeffrey A. Large of Nashville and Jonathan G. Large of Atlanta, and also her brother Thomas Clevenger of Powell, Tennessee. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Maryville. In her last years at the nursing home, even though she was confined to a wheelchair, she was a familiar, friendly sight in the halls. She was always on-the-go visiting others and making friends. Her favorite response to any favor was "Thank you, darlin'." She will be missed by her family and friends who take solace in the fact that her body and mind are now restored. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, Tennessee, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. The burial will follow the service. Condolences may be offered at www.sherwoodchapel.net.
