Thomas Dean Wallace (Tommy), 69, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. He was a very dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He spent most of his life working maintenance at Shoney's, but finished his career as a Custodian of Knox County Schools. The staff and students at Sunnyview Primary School had a very special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Winifred Renn, mother Rita Wallace, and brother James Wallace. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Deborah Wallace; three daughters: Karen Lindsay, Megan Wallace, and Elizabeth Wallace; four sisters: Eileen and Buford Ridings, Janice and Joe Tirado, Debbie and Carl Allison, and Dale Chapman. He also leaves behind two grandsons: Blake and Ian Lindsay as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tommy fought an exhausting battle with Myelodysplastic syndrome and multiple infections. His spirit remained positive while comforting family that he would once again "rejoin them on the other side". A special thanks to UT Medical Center's countless doctors, nurses, and other staff for their support, attention, and care on our medical journey.

The family will be receiving friends and family on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Click Funeral Home and Cremations, 9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37923 from 5-7 with the funeral service starting at 7 with full Military honors.

He thought the world of his family and friends; never knowing any strangers. He will be greatly missed and his legacy will continue.

In his words, "Love the people around you, because materialistic things are not forever."
