Melanie Anne Hendrix (Jones) passed away unexpectedly this week at her home in Knoxville, TN - the very same Knoxville in which she first drew breath on June 22, 1956. She was 61 years old. Melanie touched many lives in her time on this earth - both through daily interaction with friends and family, as well as through her many years of work as a nurse and caregiver. The feeling of making a meaningful difference in other people's lives is what drove her in her best and brightest moments. These are the seeds she planted in her garden of life and love that will continue to grow into lasting reminders of just how lucky we should be to have known such a uniquely remarkable woman. Melanie was preceded in death by her parents Vivian and William Jones, as well as by her youngest son Adam Johnson - with whom, among others, she is now assuredly sharing a joyous and heartwarming reunion. Melanie is survived by her eldest son Eric Johnson, and her three elder brothers: Jerry, Gary, and Steve Jones.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 23 at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN, 37932. Rev. David Lewis will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Melanie's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Caregiving Foundation at caregivingfoundation.org. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.berryhighlandwest.com.
