Shirley Fugate Nix, age 82, passed away Thursday March 29, 2018. She was of the Baptist Faith and a 41 year employee of Levi Strauss Company. Born in Knoxville and a Graduate of Rule High School. Preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Opal Fugate. Husband of 38 years Richard Nix, and son-in-law James McDaniel.

She is survived by her children Belinda Shuler, Kay McDaniel, Allen (Diane) Nix. Grandchildren Brad (Shandy) Nix, Matthew (Mikayla) Nix, Nicole Shuler, Brandon Shuler, Josh (Michelle) McDaniel, Jessica Hall, Jamie (Phillip) Hongkham. Great Grandchildren Lily, Colby, Morgan, Marshall, Isaiah, Sophia, Kate, Jake plus several nieces and nephews. Brother, Robert (Polly) Fugate, and many longtime and close friends. Shirley's family will receive friends on Monday, April 2nd at Rose Mann Heritage Chapel from 5:00-7:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Shirley's life at 7:00 pm with Rev. Allen Nix and Rev. Matthew Nix officiating. Family and friends will gather Tuesday April 3rd at 10:45 am at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Sutherland Ave for an 11:00 am Graveside service.
