Charles Moyers - Class of 1961

Charles Edward Moyers - age 75 of Corryton, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family at Tennova North on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
He was a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church. Charlie retired from ORNL Federal Credit Union in 2006 after a lifelong career in data processing which started in 1963 at Commercial Data Processing. He was a graduate of Rule High School and Draughons Business College.
Preceded in death by his son, Charles "Chuck" E. Moyers Jr.; parents, Ruby and Charlie Moyers; sister, Glenda Romanello; brother, Earl Moyers.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Moyers; daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Steve Buchanan; son and daughter-in-law, James and Miranda Moyers; grandchildren, Riley McMillan, Gillen McMillan, Mason McMillan, Blaine Moyers and Lloyd "Leo" Moyers; brother and sister-in-law, Argus and Joyce Moyers; sister-in-law Jo Ann Moyers; brother-in-law Tony Romanello. Also, very special mention: Aunt Dixie and Uncle Burchell Hoskins; "sister" and brother-in-law, Alice and Jose Robles; "brother" and sister-in-law, James and Charlotte Hensley; "brother" and sister-in-law, Carl and Charlene Hensley; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. J. Davis Allan and his nurse Pam McGhee for years of wonderful care; Dr. Ross Kerns and Dr. Srinivas Boppana and their staff at Tennessee Cancer Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emerald Youth Foundation and Greater Knoxville Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 PM, at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will then go in procession to Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, Powell for a 3:00 PM graveside service with Rev. Mark Moreland, Minister of Missions and Pastoral Care, Central Baptist Church-Bearden officiating.
