Betty (Story) Ownby age 84 went home to be with Jesus on Friday, May 25, 2018. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, Louise and Charles (Spud) Story; husband Dott Ownby; and son Kenneth Ray Gorman, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Linda Clark and Cindy Buckner (Ron); son Randy Gorman (Carole); sister Willa Mae Roberts; brothers: Charles Story, Jr. (Brenda) and John Story (Chris); ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm Monday May 28, 2018, at ROSE MORTUARY BROADWAY CHAPEL. A funeral service will follow with grandson Pastor Chris Conner officiating. The family and friends will meet at 9:45 am Tuesday May 29, 2018, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 10:00 am interment service. Online obituary may be viewed at www.rosemortuary.com.
