Robert Ervin "Bobby" Dickey was born January 14, 1951 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late James P. Dickey and Jessie Mae Dickey. He was the second child born to the union. He attended and graduated from Knoxville Rule High School in 1971.

He began his work career at this beloved WBIR Radio and TV in 1971. He retired after

forty-five years from WBIR.

Bobby was fun-loving, loved to cook and share his food with family, friends and coworkers.

He is preceded in death by his father James and brother Spec 5 James Marcellus Dickey.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Jessica T. (Jay) Dickey, Robert Lee Ervin "Rob" Dickey, and Brandon Dickey, all of Knoxville; eleven grandchildren; his mother: Jessie Mae Dickey of Gainesville, GA; brother: Rev. Charles E. (Belinda) Dickey; nieces: Nadja (Kimani) Heath, Kristi (William) Dabney, and Amy (Monterrio) Williams; and a host of cousins, relatives, and devoted friends, including Amos Wright, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 11 AM in the William V. Powell, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Unity Mortuary, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow with Rev. Charles E. Dickey as the Eulogist.
