Betty Lynn Wallace Mingie, age 86, of Knoxville, TN, who was lovingly called Nee Nee by her grandchildren, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Lonsdale United Methodist Church, where she served in various capacities, a PTA volunteer including the Knoxville Council of PTA, where she earned lifetime membership and a graduate of Rule High School and Knoxville Business College.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Mingie, Sarah Ankrom (Ed), and Mary Matthews (Ian); grandchildren, Jake Ankrom, Jessica Elajam (Nabil), and Kenneth Matthews; great-grandchildren, Carter Ankrom and soon to be born, Caroline Elajam; sister-in-law, Mozella Wallace; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Bill Payne; niece, Linda Braden; nephew, Greg Wallace; and other special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Walter Cross officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2016, at the main entrance to Lynnhurst Cemetery, for a 10:00 a.m., graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Mrs. Betty Mingie to Lonsdale United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 5565 Knoxville, TN 37928.
