Hugh S. “Pap” Kilgore, age 74 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2024. He was a member of Norwood Baptist Church for 49 years where he served as Deacon. He was a great husband, father, “Pap” grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all. He graduated class of 1968 from Rule High School. He was a food broker for Consolidated Sales. Started his work career for Cas Walker Stores and was last employed at Northern Tool. Preceded in death by parents, Milburn and Lula Kilgore; sister, Hazel Bradley; niece Sissy Bradley; father and mother-law, Burnie and Helen Kirkpatrick. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years,and high school sweetheart, Darlene Kilgore; daughter, Melissa King; son, Hugh “Bubba” Kilgore (Cindy); grandchildren, Alex (Ashley) King, Kendra King, Katelyn Kilgore, Kobe Hall and Zane (Caroline) Hall; great grandchildren, Sadie and Sylvie King; nephew, Shawn (Wendie) Bradley; Fur Baby, Dolly; brother-in-law Jerry (Sandy) Kirkpatrick, sister-in-law, Cathy Munsey, brother-in-law, Mikey (Flora) Kirkpatrick, sister-in-law, Christy Abner and( John Bailey), several nieces and nephews and special cousins, Glenda and Roger Gregory. Family will receive friends Friday, June 28, 2024 at Norwood Baptist Church from 5-7 pm with the service to follow at 7 pm. Rev. Mike Petty, and Rev. Kemp Wynn officiating.
