"Bill" William Byron Godfrey

Knoxville, TN

"Bill" William Byron Godfrey passed on Jan. 2nd at St. Thomas Hospital

surrounded by loved ones, he was 66 years old. He was a lifelong resident of Knoxville, and a US Army Veteran.

As a builder, he created homes for many throughout Knoxville and the surrounding area and had a gift for the details that made each place unique. Bill loved

stillness and quiet that came with his favorite places, whether on an early

morning job-site, at the beach, or on the porch of the cabin in the mountains. He was humble, with a wry sense of humor, and was generous to anyone in need of support.

He was preceded in death by Mother Margurite Giddens, and Father Bruce Godfrey. He is survived by his Partner, Diane Crutchfield, Daughters and Sons-in-law, Jessica and Brandon Pardue, Julie Godfrey and Caleb Petrey, Mother of Jessica and Julie, Debbie Godfrey, and Grandchildren Thomas, Madilyn, and Jackson.

He will be cremated and committed to the Smoky Mountains, in lieu of a funeral, in accordance with his wishes.
