Judy Ann Pyles, age 82, passed away on September 7, 2024, at home, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was born on November 9, 1941. Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, James A. Pyles, her son Michael "Mike" (Vicke) Pyles, and her daughter Angela "Angie" (Bruce) Howard. She also leaves behind multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom shared a very special and unique bond which she cherished deeply. Judy also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edith Cooper, her brothers Charles and James "Jimmy" Cooper, and her sister Vivian Cooper. Judy was a graduate of Rule High School. Her career was marked by her roles as a seamstress, a cook for Meals on Wheels, and as the owner and operator of Judy's Kids, a daycare that she ran with love and dedication. Judy was deeply involved in her community and also served as a volunteer missionary in Carabobo Venezuela for over 20 years. She especially loved worshipping her Lord and Savior through her membership at Alice Bell Baptist Church. Known for her servant's heart, Judy was a loving, strong-willed, and compassionate individual. She was a hard worker, persistent in her endeavors, and an exemplary Godly mother and grandmother. Her interests included cooking, gardening, sewing, reading her Bible, singing, crafts, and cleaning. Judy was always ready to lend a helping hand and was known for her thoughtful gestures like sending cards to those in need. A service to honor Judy's life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Alice Bell Baptist Church, with receiving of friends from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, followed by the service at 3:30pm performed by Pastor Tim Tatum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alice Bell Baptist Church Building Fund, 3305 Alice Bell Road, Knoxville, TN 37917, a cause close to her heart. The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care and compassion given by Dee, Tiana, Deb, Phillip and the on call staff of UT Hospice.
